Ridgewood Insights collects only the information reasonably needed to operate the website, respond to enquiries, process report purchases, deliver products, prevent abuse, and meet our obligations.

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the website, we may collect:

  • Name, email address, phone number, company, and enquiry details you provide
  • Purchase and payment data, including report title, amount, currency, order reference, provider reference, payment status, and relevant timestamps
  • Limited technical and security data needed to operate the website, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and protect transactions
  • Consent choices and communications relating to your enquiry or order

The pawaPay hosted checkout collects the mobile-money wallet details needed to request payment. Ridgewood Insights does not receive your mobile-money PIN or ask you to disclose it.

2. How we use information

We use the information for purposes including:

  • Creating, verifying, reconciling, and supporting report purchases
  • Delivering secure downloads and sending purchase confirmations
  • Responding to enquiries, delivery problems, refunds, and disputes
  • Preventing fraud, duplicate submissions, and misuse of the website
  • Maintaining records for accounting and legal obligations
  • Improving website reliability and measuring activity without sending purchase PII to analytics

We do not use purchase contact details for unrelated marketing unless you have separately consented where consent is required.

3. Service providers and disclosures

We share information only where needed to provide the service, protect our rights, or comply with law. Relevant providers may include pawaPay and participating mobile-money operators for payment processing; Supabase for database and private file storage; Vercel for website hosting; and Resend for transactional email. Each provider receives only the information needed for its role and processes it under its own security and privacy obligations.

4. Cookies and report access

After checkout, we use a secure, HTTP-only purchase cookie to recognize the purchasing browser and control access to the paid report. The cookie contains an opaque access value rather than your email, wallet number, or payment-provider credentials. Clearing cookies or changing devices may require support-assisted access recovery.

5. Retention and security

We retain purchase, accounting, security, and support records only for as long as reasonably needed for delivery, reconciliation, dispute handling, fraud prevention, and applicable accounting and legal obligations. We use access controls, private storage, encryption in transit, restricted credentials, and other appropriate safeguards. No internet service can be guaranteed completely secure.

6. Your choices and enquiries

You may contact us to ask about personal information we hold, request a correction, or raise a privacy concern. Some records may need to be kept where required for accounting, legal, fraud-prevention, or dispute purposes.
